Short documentary film section – High school
ŠOLJAN IN ROVINJ (5′), 2024. 🎬 Zvane Črnje Highschool, Rovinj 📝 This is a film about Antun Šoljan, a croatian poet, translator, dramatist and writer born in Belgrade, who periodically lived in Rovinj and made a special connection with the picturesque town on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula. The story starts with the only fact known to us, the house Antun Šoljan lived and wrote in. The rest is imagination. The highschoolers from Rovinj, in their own , kind of humoristic way presented the things Šoljan did in Rovinj, how he spent his time and who he hung out with. The film came to be on a film workshop as part of the 28th days of Antun Šoljan. 👁🗨 The award for best documentary in the national category goes to this film for its surprising response to audience expectations. This film skillfully defies conventional narratives in an entertaining way. Its ability to engage, surprise, and shift perspectives makes it a standout work in the documentary genre, leaving a lasting impact on viewers. 🏆 Best Documentary Film (29th Youth Film Festival & 17th Four River Film Festival)
