A ROMANTIC FRAUD (15′), 2024
🎬 DOKUart Bjelovar Documentary workshop, Bjelovar, Croatia
📝 The topic of this educational workshop documentary is fraud, especially elder fraud on the Internet. The protagonist sees through the intentions of scammers on Facebook who offer her romantic services in exchange for money. In a humorous way, the protagonist shares her experiences of communicating with fraudsters on the Internet. The film was conceived, shot and edited by participants of the DOKUart documentary film workshop in Bjelovar, held in October of 2024.
👁‍🗨 There are many challenges in engaging with current events, one of them being that many people deal with similar problems. Despite the popularity of the topic of social media, this group of authors manages to turn the paradigm upside down and turn the victim into a self-made hero. It may deal with false identities, but it certainly shows the true face of the talent of the team behind “A Romantic Fraud”.
