Short animated film section – Elementary school

GUARDIANS OF THE SEA (3’), 2020

📝 The animated children’s film Guardians of the Sea is a story about sea pollution. Our sea is polluted by various waste produced by ships. The living marine world is baffled by what ships discharge. A fishing boat comes to help them and collects garbage with a net. The message of the film is that garbage should be recycled and thus protect the sea from pollution, mostly from plastic.
👁‍🗨 A simple and extremely likeable, at the same time very instructive film that makes us aware of the importance and necessity of ecology in a clear and direct way. But that is not all! Incredibly good origami fish also appear in the film!
🏆 Special mention of the expert jury (58th Croatian Children’s Film Festival)

TRAVEL, SEE, LOOK AROUND (5’), 2020
🎬 Creative Film Studio VANIMA, Varaždin
📝An animated film by a group of beginner animators that invites you to travel and see interesting tourist destinations in Croatia. The film forms a unique unity of a series of animated stories by eight authors who have studied the appearance, peculiarities, legends and natural sights of selected locations. Each author created a screenplay, worked on their drawings and animated in their own way. All animated postcards are connected through a simplified map of Croatia.
👁‍🗨 The second prize goes to a film of a very skilfully designed composition, very dedicated animation and very harmoniously connected motifs. This was a very good idea from which a great film was realized.

IN THE WOODS (3’), 2020
🎬 School of Animated Film Čakovec
📝 A girl’s parents quarrel and she decides to run away into the woods. There she meets amazing friends. As she spends a wonderful day with them, the parents realize that their little girl is missing and look for her.
👁‍🗨 We award the first prize to a film that has amazed us in many ways: with its beautiful visuals, excellent direction and very imaginative story. Deep and tender, this film shows the importance of love and support, from all living beings, to all living beings.
