TV reportage section – Elementary school
THE OTHER SIDE (8′), 2019 🎬 Film Knights, Grigor Vitez Elementary School, Zagreb 📝 Although you cannot judge a book by its cover, we often make a wrong conclusion out of prejudice. Let’s turn the key, step on the gas, free our minds and rush down the road without prejudice! Along the way, we will introduce you to the other side of an (un)ordinary professor in love with speed and travel. 👁🗨 The film taught us how many people we know can have quite unusual hobbies or habits that we are not even aware of. We hope that the professor and her husband will travel the world on motorcycles, and we congratulate the film crew on a great film, and especially on combining the film footage with photos of the couple’s travels. 🏆 1st award of children’s jury (57th Croatian Children’s Film Festival)
GIVE ME FIVE (7′), 2019 🎬 Tomaš Goričanac Elementary School, Mala Subotica 📝 In cooperation with the Public Open University “Step by step/Korak po korak” and the Reyn Network, Croatia is implementing the program Give Me Five! (Da-m sins!). The program is intended for Roma students with the aim of preserving the culture and language of the Bayash Roma. The workshops are conducted by Roma helpers with the help of professional associates and teachers. 👁🗨 Any effort made to get children to know the language, culture and customs of other ethnic groups is valuable in itself. And the special value of this reportage is that the children themselves talk about it, present their world, games and the differences they are living. This is an excellent contribution to mutual understanding and acceptance in the Roma communities. 🏆 3rd award of expert jury (57th Croatian Children’s Film Festival)
